With National Volunteer Week<\/a> scheduled for April 7 – 13<\/strong>, you have the opportunity to affirm the volunteers who serve in your ministry\u00a0and\u00a0community.<\/p>\n

Here are a few ideas to get you started.<\/p>\n

  1. Give a gift certificate from a local restaurant.<\/li>\n
  2. Have children use a permanent marker to sign a thank-you T-shirt.<\/li>\n
  3. Give 2 movie tickets to an inspirational film.\u00a0(Several coming up this month!)<\/li>\n
  4. Personalize a tote bag.<\/li>\n
  5. Fill a coffee mug with a bag of their favorite\u00a0ground flavored coffee.<\/li>\n
  6. Create a display or kiosk in your lobby that features volunteers serving in action.<\/li>\n
  7. Give Whoppers candies with this note: \u201cThanks for your whopper service to our church!\u201d<\/li>\n
  8. Give a relaxing bath experience with a gift of bubble bath or scented, floating candles.<\/li>\n
  9. Give a prayer journal <\/a>with a personalized note written in the inside jacket.<\/li>\n
  10. Give a cookie cutter with a note that says, \u201cThank you for molding kids\u2019 lives.\u201d<\/li>\n
  11. Give a seed packet with a note that says, \u201cWow! You\u2019re planting God\u2019s Word in young children\u2019s hearts!\u201d<\/li>\n
  12. Give plastic visors with \u201cTop Volunteer\u201d painted on them.<\/li>\n

  14. Call a different team member each day just to see how the person is doing.<\/li>\n
  15. Go to lunch with a volunteer \u2014 a different person each week.<\/li>\n
  16. Send an encouraging note with a Scripture verse.<\/li>\n
  17. Share a valuable ministry resource to equip them for success.<\/li>\n
  18. Take your volunteers on a retreat to refresh and refuel.<\/li>\n
  19. Send a thank-you card with a personalized note.<\/li>\n
  20. Plan a team fun day where the church picks up the tab.<\/li>\n
  21. Establish a convenient parking place for \u201cvolunteer of the month.\u201d<\/li>\n
  22. Create a comfortable coffee area for volunteers only. Provide fresh pastries and fruit.<\/li>\n
  23. Give a Bar None candy bar with this note: \u201cBar none, you\u2019re the best!\u201d<\/li>\n

  42. Wash a volunteer\u2019s car while they\u2019re\u00a0at church serving.<\/li>\n
