We\u2019d all <\/em>like to point to someone else when we make mistakes!<\/strong> But when asked honestly, the kids at your VBS readily admit that they\u2019ve blown it. Kids know they\u2019ve lost their tempers, lied, said unkind words, disobeyed parents, and broken rules. But in a world where black and white is becoming increasingly grey, kids may not grasp the impact of their offenses. Those wrongdoings, or sins, create a chasm between us and a holy and perfect God\u2014our loving heavenly Father who desires a relationship with us.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Shipwrecked<\/a>, you won\u2019t<\/em> spend a day pointing out kids\u2019 wrongs and shaming them or making them feel guilty<\/strong>. Rather, you\u2019ll remind them that we all <\/em>do wrong, and those sins come between us and God in a really big way. During Bible adventures, kids silently drape a \u201cdirty\u201d cloth on the cross as a symbol of the wrongs they\u2019ve done\u2014wrongs that Jesus paid for on the cross. Kids also discover the promise Jesus made to a criminal on the cross, exploring how Jesus takes our <\/em>punishment.
