You\u2019ve been dreaming up decorations, humming the theme music, and telling all the kids in and<\/em> outside your ministry about the awesome Bible adventures they\u2019re going to embark on. But there\u2019s one small problem. You have to find enough leaders to actually lead<\/em> all these kids on these awesome Bible adventures you keep promising. Where to begin?<\/p>\n

Recruiting volunteers might seem overwhelming, but it doesn\u2019t have to be a long, drawn out process. In fact, you can probably do it in under 90 seconds.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the secret formula:<\/p>\n

  1. Tell them something you\u2019ve noticed about them that\u2019s awesome.<\/li>\n
  2. Explain that you have a role in VBS that was made for them.<\/li>\n
  3. Share that you\u2019ll be there, why you love serving at VBS, and invite them to join in the fun!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This 90-second relational approach makes people feel valued and lets them see your passion and dedication\u2014it\u2019s hard to say no to that!<\/p>\n
