Kids will make wreaths to show their friends and families about God&#8217;s welcoming love.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Teachers Dig In<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Dig In to the Bible<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Read:<\/u> Galatians 5:22; Luke 15:11-32<\/li>\n<li><u>In This Passage:<\/u> Love is a fruit of the Spirit, and we can see God\u2019s loving heart in a story Jesus tells about a father whose son leaves to live wildly. When the son returns home, the father welcomes him with open arms. In the same way, God loves us so much, and his love flows out of us to others!<\/li>\n<li><u>Bible Point:<\/u> Love is a fruit of the Spirit.<\/li>\n<li><u>Summary Verse:<\/u> \u201cBut the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!\u201d (Galatians 5:22-23).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dig Deeper<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>You\u2019ll Be Teaching:<\/u> <em>Love is a fruit of the Spirit. <\/em>It\u2019s tempting to teach kids to try to love better. But the fruit of the Spirit isn\u2019t something we try to have; it\u2019s something that grows naturally when we get closer to God. As kids understand God\u2019s love for them, they\u2019ll grow more love in their lives.<\/li>\n<li><u>Think About:<\/u> Describe God\u2019s love for you. What\u2019s your response?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dig In to Prayer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ask God to inspire your kids with ways to pass his love on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Quick Tip<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There are some kids who are just plain hard to love. But remember, love isn\u2019t about your own efforts. Love is a fruit of the Spirit. If you\u2019re struggling with hard-to-love kids, ask God to help you see them through his eyes. The more you pray for them, the more you\u2019ll see the good in them. And the more you see the good in them, the more <em>they\u2019ll <\/em>see the good in themselves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3>Welcome Home Wreaths<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Supplies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>chenille wires (2 per child)<\/li>\n<li>tissue paper (in a variety of colors)<\/li>\n<li>glue sticks<\/li>\n<li>8\u00bdx11 sheets of card stock<\/li>\n<li>scissors<\/li>\n<li>markers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Easy Prep<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make a sample craft to show kids.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-33069\" src=\"http:\/\/wwv.group.com\/childrens-ministry\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/03\/Fixed-Wk-1-ME-Craft-1151-1-300x283.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wwv.group.com\/childrens-ministry\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/03\/Fixed-Wk-1-ME-Craft-1151-1-300x283.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wwv.group.com\/childrens-ministry\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/03\/Fixed-Wk-1-ME-Craft-1151-1.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<div><em>*Marked supplies are also used in Core Bible Discovery<\/em><\/div>\n<div>Let&#8217;s keep kids safe! You can help by using supplies as instructed for only ages 3+, purchasing child-safe items, and being aware of allergy concerns.<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3>Make Wreaths<\/h3>\n<div>Show kids the sample craft you made. Set out the supplies to share, and have<\/div>\n<div>kids follow these directions to make wreaths.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Twist the ends of two chenille wires together to make a large circle, then bend the circle into a heart shape.<\/li>\n<li>Trace the heart onto a piece of card stock and cut it out. Set the card-stock heart aside for later.<\/li>\n<li>Tear small pieces of tissue paper. Ball them up and glue them onto the wire, all the way around the heart. You can choose just one color or make a fun color pattern.<\/li>\n<li>When you finish your wreath, glue the card-stock heart to the back of it.<\/li>\n<li>On the card stock, write \u201cWelcome Home.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"bp-page-3\" class=\"page\" data-page-number=\"3\" data-loaded=\"true\">\n<div class=\"textLayer\">\n<h3>Talk About It<\/h3>\n<div><strong>Ask: <\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What\u2019s welcoming or comforting about walking into your own home?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>What do you think was the best part of coming home for the son in the story?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Say: <\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Jesus told the story of the lost son to show how much God loves us. No matter what we do or how far we run away from him, God is always ready to welcome us back home. When you get home, hang your wreath inside the door your family usually enters through so it\u2019s the first thing you see.
