Maybe something like\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>School<\/li>\n<li>No fun<\/li>\n<li>Mean<\/li>\n<li>Something to break<\/li>\n<li>Structure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What if we swap the word <em>rule<\/em> with the word <em>value<\/em>? What words come to mind when you hear the word <em>value<\/em>? Probably words like\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appreciate<\/li>\n<li>Admire<\/li>\n<li>Give worth to<\/li>\n<li>Precious<\/li>\n<li>Invest in<\/li>\n<li>Sacrifice for<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Values are positive. When you value something, you admire it. It\u2019s special!\u00a0 Value is a soulful word. It points us toward who Jesus says we are.<\/p>\n<h2>Why Classroom Values Matter<\/h2>\n<p>When we adjust our language to communicate values instead of rules, we\u2019re communicating something positive and inviting kids to rise to the challenge, rather than live by a checklist of laws to keep them in line.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s look at the BE BOLD Values together, which you will review every week with your preteens:<a href=\"http:\/\/wwv.group.com\/childrens-ministry\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/07\/BeBold_ValuesPoster-300x300-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-33317 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/wwv.group.com\/childrens-ministry\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/07\/BeBold_ValuesPoster-300x300-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wwv.group.com\/childrens-ministry\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/07\/BeBold_ValuesPoster-300x300-1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wwv.group.com\/childrens-ministry\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/07\/BeBold_ValuesPoster-300x300-1-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You\u2019re accepted just as you are.<\/li>\n<li>We respect each other\u2019s thoughts and struggles.<\/li>\n<li>We\u2019re all in this together.<\/li>\n<li>God is here, ready to be your friend because you matter!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These values will become the cornerstone of your ministry culture. They\u2019ll be something to point kids toward when they\u2019re going off track, something that gives preteens a safe place to share, and something that helps newcomers feel welcome. Your preteens will be motivated to participate in this uplifting culture\u2014not out of obligation, but because they are part of a community with shared values. Repeating the values every week ensures that preteens are never confused about what your culture is.
