The parents come, they drop off their kids, and they leave. Some of these parents are regular attendees, some come now and then, and for some\u2014this is the first time they\u2019ve stepped into your church.<\/p>\n<p>No matter how involved those parents are or aren\u2019t, use this opportunity to minister and reach out to them. Here\u2019s how\u2026<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Give parents a boost.<\/strong> Invite them to stay for your VBS opening, or invite them to return and participate in the closing. I\u2019m a parent, and it\u2019s an amazing experience to watch my kids as they\u2019re on fire for Jesus! It energizes me and makes me feel alive.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Send parents off with encouragement.<\/strong> Put together a short devotional that encourages parents. Need ideas for this? Check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifetreefamily.com\/community\/newsletter-signup\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lifetree Family newsletter<\/a>. It provides <em>awesome<\/em> encouragement and tips for parents of elementary kids.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Invite parents to sign up for your moms\u2019 group or adult studies. <\/strong>Here are just a few of the resources that can help them develop a relationship with each other and with God:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Get moms together for a one- to two-hour event using <a href=\"http:\/\/store.grouppublishing.com\/OA_HTML\/ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?item=3254139&amp;section=26119&amp;originCat=Women%27s+Ministry\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Mom Squad<\/em><\/a> mini-event kit. This event helps moms connect with each other and realize the unique gifts God has given them as they\u2019re being refilled and refreshed. The kit also includes a <a href=\"http:\/\/store.grouppublishing.com\/OA_HTML\/ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?item=3256171&amp;section=26119&amp;originCat=Women%27s+Ministry\"><em>How to Start a Moms\u2019 Ministry <\/em>booklet<\/a>!<\/li>\n<li>Start a moms\u2019 program, or add to the one you already have. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.group.com\/wheremomsconnect\"><em>Where Moms Connect<\/em><\/a> is a moms\u2019 ministry resource that encourages moms through their journey of motherhood. Plus, it\u2019s for moms with kids of <em>all <\/em>ages! That means moms with babies, moms with teenagers, and grandmas!<\/li>\n<li>For your adult programming, check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/wwv.group.com\/adult-ministry\/lifetree-small-group\/\"><em>Lifetree Small Group Series<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.group.com\/adult-ministry\/sunday-school\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Fearless Conversation<\/em><\/a> Bible studies. Both these resources are designed to help adults grow in their relationships with each other as they never have before. They invite authenticity and vulnerability in ways that help adults see God at work in their lives and the lives of others.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/wwv.group.com\/adult-ministry\/lifetree-small-group\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Lifetree Small Group Series<\/em><\/a> is a video-based resource that offers real-life, compelling stories about topics adults want to talk more about, such as facing fears, the Bible, forgiveness, overcoming hardships, and more.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.group.com\/adult-ministry\/sunday-school\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Fearless Conversation<\/em><\/a> is a Bible study series that helps adults tackle tough questions about God and faith.
