One-Minute Prayer Plan for Recruiting Volunteers

One-Minute Prayer Plan for Recruiting Volunteers

How many volunteers have you asked God for today?

We all know that prayer should be the foundation for our volunteer recruiting efforts. I mean, every leader knows that. But often in our busyness we forget this important step. Or we don’t know where to begin. Or we feel presumptuous asking God to help with something so “earthly.” Whatever the excuse, this simple plan changes that.

Use this quick (and Scripture-rich) prayer pattern to help you pray with more focus and purpose as you look to recruit additional volunteers. It’s a great way to get the entire team involved in praying for the people needed to staff your ministries.

  1. Ask God to send the right people: Lord, you know every heart. Show us which of these…you have chosen. (Acts 1:24)
  2. Pray God would give them a willing heart: So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. (2 Thessalonians 1:11)
  3. Believe they will be receptive to serving: I am confident as I write this letter that you will do what I ask and even more! Philemon 1:21

No more excuses. Start praying!
